In short

Bhakti Pradakshina is a personal prayer companion. **It asks you to create an account before you can use it.** Your prayers, your steps and your panchangam are computed and stored on your own device; an account exists so they can survive a change of phone. We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising. We do not share your devotional activity with anyone.

What you give us when you register

The app cannot be opened without an account. Registration asks for:

**Your passcode is never stored as the digits you typed, and never leaves your phone.** What is kept on the device is a salted, stretched hash of it (PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA256), from which the passcode cannot practically be recovered. Where this build syncs to a server, what is sent as your account password is a value *derived* from your passcode rather than the passcode itself — so even the hosting provider never receives the digits you chose. If you forget your passcode, a reset link is sent to the email address you registered with.

What the app stores on your device

All of this stays on your phone unless you are signed in and sync is enabled:

You can erase the prayer data at any time: Profile → Clear Local Data. You can remove the account and its passcode from the device with **Profile → Forget this account**. Both are immediate and permanent.

What leaves your device

Your steps, your panchangam and your reminder settings are never uploaded.

Where synced data is held

Your prayers sync to a server operated by the developer, not to a third-party analytics or advertising service. The database runs on that same machine and accepts no connections from the internet — nothing can reach it but the app's own interface, over an encrypted connection. The app holds no database credentials. It talks to an interface that identifies you by a signed token and returns only your own rows; there is no key inside the app that could read anybody else's prayers.

Permissions the app requests, and why

The app requests no access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, files or SMS. It contains no analytics and no advertising SDKs.

Panchangam and astronomical calculation

The panchangam is computed on your device from astronomical formulae. Choosing a city selects coordinates for that calculation — **it does not read your location**, and nothing about where you are is sent anywhere.

Reminders

Reminders are local notifications generated on your phone. Nothing is sent to a server to deliver them, and none of them counts missed days or reproaches you for not praying.

Children

The app is not directed at children. It contains no advertising, no chat, and no user-to-user features.

Your rights

Devotional content

Mantra and sloka texts are drawn from widely published sources and are shown with the source they are conventionally cited from. Content still awaiting verification is labelled in the app as such rather than presented as verified. The app makes no claim about the outcome of any prayer. If you believe a text is presented incorrectly or disrespectfully, please contact us; corrections are treated as a priority.

Changes

Material changes will be reflected here and in the app's Play Store listing, with the date above updated.
